Blinded By The Light

A child born blind? 
Was it his parents fault? 
His fault? 
No the bible says,  'So that God's glory can be shown...'
What is Gods glory? 
Love?
A child gets cancer? 
Whose fault? His? His parents? 
What glory can it reveal? 
Do those who have experienced and witnessed it or those who have endured it -learn something greater IF they desire...
A whale gets cancer...
A dog gets cancer...
Whose fault? 
Is Gods glory to be shown in animals?
Why would BEASTS get the same diseases? 
Food? Environment? Pollution? 
Are we being warned or are we being asked to show Gods glory? 
If we see animals as the same as humans - what do we see? 
Are we the same as the lion who eats the lamb? 
Are we the same as the spider who eats the grasshopper? 
Why do beasts eat other beasts? 
Why do flesh eaters eat grass eaters? 
Do we attack like animals? 
Do we compete? 
Do we leave our weak, sick and dying alone? 
The goose is unique that it does not, they say ...leave a sick or dying friend or mate behind.
Do we pick on and bully the weaker ones, the slow ones, the mentally and physically handicapped ones as ducks do? 
Do we kill our young the way many animals do? 
When we consider ourselves and animals and we wonder why the world is the way it is - should we ask ourselves "Did we create this by our own actions?" 
Most will say to themselves No! It is survival of the fittest...It is the way it should be...It is the way its always been ...
Then they will pick up a bible and quote Why its right...not realizing or caring that the bible is a list of our wrongs - and our rights - a journey from good to bad to good to bad again...a book readable from either direction - a living book -a genius work that has an ending that can be your beginning or a beginning that can be your end. A book that can show you who you are and who you can be as well as where you are in your soul journey and where you can go?  A book that is the same today, yesterday or in the future. 
Are you Abraham? Ready to leave everything you know and everything you have been taught to search personally for the meaning of life?
Are you Solomon? Do you think that wisdom or education will solve all of your problems? 
Are you Hannah? Desperately seeking a child to love? 
Are you Jonah? You've been asked to help but you dont want to help others? 
Perhaps you are Job and even though you think you have done all the right things in life -you have lost almost everything and everyone by your self-righteous attitude? 
Or maybe you are like King David and your ego has enlarged so much you feel entitled to even murder others spiritually or mentally to get what you want? 
The bible is not giving you a Right to kill - nor a right to spank your child, have multiple wives, kill a man so you can marry his wife or do any of the things many of the biblical authors insist God told them they could do...
Have you done something you thought was right but discovered later it was very wrong? Do our desires interfere with our interpretations of what is wrong and what is right in a moment of passion? Passion means suffering -mental suffering. You can mentally suffer when you want anything or anyone and in that moment like with David you can do things that are wrong. 
You can tell yourself its Right to steal, kill, destroy and condemn others based on race, religion, financial status, and political beliefs but that doesn't make it Right -nor does it make it the Truth because you believed it was right. Just as those who exterminated other people in the bible believed they were God approved. 
You miss the message in the story because its what you would do or because you aren't reading it critically as it should be read. Asking, questioning and searching -as directed by Jesus. If you aren't offended by the murders committed by people in the bible -like David, Moses and Paul as well as the priests and politicians then you should ask yourself Why? 
The bible shows you Who You Are or as Jesus inside you would say "Who I Am" by what I believe...
God did not command us "Thou Shall Not Kill and then turn around and order the murder of thousands...seriously this is the most ridiculous belief about God I've ever heard from people. 
"Yes...yes...He did," they say.
How can this be justified in the human imaginations? 
"Well because one people is greater than all the others..."
Really? Seriously? Think about it.
As in 'foreign'-different race-different color- people are animals? They are and should be enslaved, manipulated and degraded? They are dumb, have no conscious, are uncivilized, savages, less intelligent? 
Or as in Hitlers viewpoint? Whereas only blond blue-eyed Aryans should be allowed to live in Gods world? Ironic since he was short with dark hair and dark eyes. 
Or as in the rich who think the poor should die...Isnt tithing a Christian concept? Could welfare be considered tithing when we pay taxes? 
Or as in the educated who think idiots should be sterilized? 
Which one is Right? 
Are we blind mentally? Are we blind spiritually? 
Its something we should all consider...
Have we been blinded by the light? The very thing that was supposed to SAVE US? Have we misinterpreted the light? Lost our way in broad daylight? 
Perhaps rather than just reading we should be constantly asking, "What does this mean? How does it apply to me today, yesterday or in the future?"
